Training and Education

All community members need adequate opportunities for training and education. This includes school, vocational and tertiary education, and ongoing professional development for children, youth and adults. Challenges that are faced in providing appropriate training and education include:

  • Providing access for the full range of communities (considering different learning needs and locations), and

  • Providing training and education that is culturally appropriate

In addition members who have lower educational levels may experience challenges including:

  • Reduced opportunities for obtaining meaningful work and hence adequate income, and

  • Reduced ability for engaging with community support services (considering factors such as language and literacy)
